Timaya enetimi Alfred Odom also known as Dem mama soldier / Egberipapa 1(town crier of the people) of Bayelsa has done something no one would think he would do. Yes he has shaved his dreadlocks something that most people consider as part of his identity.
Timaya is an award winning Nigerian musician and is popular for singing socially conscious music. He has written and produced a music track for YouTube star Jarrett Holt and Eulonzo Jordan.
While some say it is because of his new status as a father,some say he wants a new look.
He tweeted the picture of his shaved head and says he feels relieved after shaving his locks.
Why did he wait this long to shave the dreads he has nurtured for years?
Timaya was once the back-up singer of eedris abdulkareem another socially consious singer. “Dem Mama” an account of the 1999 destruction of Odi, a riverine
community in the oil producing Niger Delta, by soldiers hunting down militants whom where alleged to have killed 8 policemen was the song that brought him into public focus and gave him fame. Timaya has done collaboration with some top music artistes in Nigeria including P-square,J martins,kefee and others.
